The sun was going down slowly into the horizon, leaving it's remaining bits of orange rays above the sky. It's six past ten pm that time, the streets were thronged by people who were buzzling all around the sidewalks.
They were either going down to the subway, waiting for buses and taxis or just waiting for the green lights to turn on so that they could cross the roads. People were walking unexpectedly slow this time.
With their thick coats on and snow falling slowly, they raced - as fast as they could, careful not to slip - against each other, hurrying to arrive home and spend the weekend with their family.
The buildings though, were still electrifying, mesmerizing and bright. The city was twenty-four seven alive, not shutting it's eyes even for a second. It's winter in London this time of the year.
The snow was falling bit by bit, making sure that every corner in London was embraced by it. As time passed by, the snow fell more and more heavily. Forcing all these people to increase their walking pace, rushing faster towards their destination.
On a corner - secluded from the busy and noisy London city - stand an old, historic library. The building was old with big, cylinder pillars and some beautiful carvings on it's wall.
The light was still on inside, indicating that someone was still there - in the library. A couple of minutes later, a girl with a messy bun and thick, fluffy brown coat stepped out of the library. She looked inside her purse, making sure she didn't forget anything before leaving because she's actually very clumsy. But as soon as she looked up to the building, she soon realized what she forgot to do.
"Ah! So that's what I've been forgetting about," she sighed and slowly went back inside the library to turn off the lights.
As soon as the lights were off, she headed back outside. Looking at the sky, the girl sighed.
"The sky seems so unfriendly," she stretched her hand out to touch the falling snow, "And the snow is starting to fall heavily now, I better head home."
She put her hands inside her coat pocket and started to walk aimlessly.
Despite the fact that she knew she needed to walk in a faster pace, she didn't and decided to walk slowly - enjoying the illuminating lights from the buildings, the thronged of people and the falling snow.
She was tired today, after her college activities she needed to directly help her grandma to guard and organize the library. She's happy she could help her grandma but she was tired too. She daydreamed for a second, thinking of a holiday but was brought back to reality by a bumping feeling she had on her shoulders.
"Ouch!" She said, holding her bumped shoulder.
He was a guy wearing woolly, knitted hat with thick black coat hugging his body. She could see his face. She was mesmerized at first but was snapped back when the guy turned away. Without saying a single word he walked away like nothing had happened. The girl was bewildered and angry at the same time.
"What was that? He think that because he is so handsome that he can be impolite like that? Can't believe I met someone as impolite as him, at least say something will you?" she mumbled under her breath, angry and annoyed but soon she looked up and saw the falling snow.
"Just forget about it, I better go home now. Hope I don't meet anyone like him ever again," she finally said, quickening her pace and disappeared after turning into another corner towards her neighborhood.
Neither did she know that she would meet him more often and neither did they know that their short encounter would completely change their life.
